9:30pm

Thursday night Hymn Session – Bring your harps, voices, and other instruments for a fun and relaxing time of playing and singing some favorite hymns. Similar to traditional jam sessions, you can play by ear or using lead sheets (which will be provided).

To keep it simple for those for whom jam sessions feel intimidating, we will have books with fairly easy arrangements of these favorite hymns. So, you can play (& sing) in any way that’s comfortable – melody only, experiment with bass lines, or “whatever.”

It will be fun and joyful!

"Self-care" is an important concept for a therapeutic musician. We need to practice "self-care" in order to be able to thrive at our work and our personal life. "Heartmath" is a research based approach which one can use for this purpose.

Christine Griffin, Heartmath trainer at Children's Hospital Colorado, will be presenting a three hour workshop on "The Resilience Advantage...skills for personal and professional effectiveness" based on Heartmath principles. (www.heartmath.org)

You won't want to miss this opportunity to learn this important skill which can be useful not only as a therapeutic musician but also in your personal life.
